People are allowed to change their minds over time but this sounds more like a deception. Did you ask why he's changed his mind?

I've never been in this situation, so take this with a grain of salt.
You need to see an individual counselor. Probably should see a couples counselor too. Rebuilding the trust will be hot work, and therapy will help you decide if it is worth it.
Just remember though, that if the angry bestie only told you about 2 times 10 years ago, then it's safe to assume that those are the only times it happened.
I will say that it does seem like the situation was just a horrible mistake. You have to remember that doing a Master's degree can be super stressful, and when you couple it with the lack of physical comfort of a long distance relationship and getting drunk, you can see how someone might make a mistake like that. I'm not at all condoning it, just explaining and letting you approach your feelings from a different perspective if you need it.

This is so disgusting. Not just that you think wearing boxers only around a minor is appropriate… But the fact that you would try and put her in the middle of your spat with her mother. If she is uncomfortable she obviously won't tell you that. Her seeing her mom's body is different then seeing the weird boyfriends junk. And even if she is comfy with it, it doesn't matter. It is inappropriate and minors have parents for a reason (hint, it's because they don't know what is or isn't appropriate).

Yeah. Definitely an accident. No wonder your son was pissed. I just always assumed parents know better than to hook up with their child's friends. You admitted you basically ignored him so you can hook up with his friend. And you were relieved your child left. Why even bother to go meet him? You made a clear choice. You do not seem like the kind of person who would sit there and actually listen to your son unload whatever he had been holding onto for years so why put him through it?

OP, first, I think you should end the relationship with the man you have clearly fallen out of love with. You sound like you are trying to talk yourself in to staying with him. You need to let him be with someone who loves him fully. You sound like you have lots of issues going on and need to work on yourself before being critical of someone else. Then you can go off and help the orphans in Tijuana all you want. Maybe you can also help the orphans close to where you are now too. Good luck.

I know there's no way of acting straight or gay I have gay male friends btw. My fwb would get defensive and gross out about gay people if you talk about them. I even tried to introduce him to my gay male friends because I'm close with them and he would say ew no. I felt like he used me to cover his sexuality or figure out his sexuality. Think I'm developing feelings for him recently. I've been thinking about ending our fwb recently and be only friends since I'm starting to develop feelings and don't want to stay as fwb developing stronger feelings for him.
