I will help you get treatment but will you please talk to me about why you are worried about getting treatment?If you had an onset of diabetes, you would need insulin and healthy food and I wouldn’t be able to accept you risking your health and our lives together by refusing treatment. I know you don’t like this situation or feeling this way but we have to face it together. If I make you an appointment, will you go?”
If no, “If you don’t get treatment this month, I’ll be going to stay for a weekend at my sister’s/friends or asking you to go stay at your parent’s to think about next steps, because I need you to be getting external support in order for us to be ok.”
For me that would be a total relationship killer. You love me and my dog. I have the sameish situation as you. My 3 yo dog has been my life and whoever gets to be on my life has to love her or at least put up with her. Any abuse to her I take it personal and I hvae zero tolerance for people who don't respect animals, much less my doggo.
