$300K is life changing money for me. Even $150K. I know that their area is expensive (OP states average homes are $1.5 mil) but I tend to agree – move where you can afford it. I had to move 1.5 hours away from where I wanted to and completely change jobs because I couldn’t afford to buy in my city once my lease was up. I know that isn’t always realistic for everyone but you need to do what you have to to survive in this economy.
In this case, that means move where OP’s husbands $150K is all they need for his part of the down payment.

The addiction will not stop he will continue to lie more elaborately, coke completely takes over the personality, you can negotiate all you want but he’s not going to stop because he doesn’t want to, according to his actions.
