Firstly, apologies for the slow update, it' s been a chaotic few days. Thank you to everyone who commented and reached out and helped me to realize that the partnership I was in had not been for me.

I ended it which went worse than expected. She' d already told a few people what I told her in confidence, and she' s probably going to inform more of our mutual friends (some of whom know already, but don' t care). I don' t think she got the responses she was expecting though.

I figured out that this is about more than the shoes – she wants to maintain control of everything, right down to exactly what clothes I wear, the way i spend my money and how I spend my period. These red flags were obvious before but I ignored them.

The good news is that I had been planning on moving to the same country, just a different town. I also work completely remotely so the disruption to my a lot more not nearly as severe as it would be if I' d settled in a brand new place with a new job.

Right now I' m staying at a good Airbnb for a few days prior to I travel to my brand new home and embark on the new life, wearing what ever I want.
