Yeah, as it takes time for hormones to level out and sex drive to return. Regardless, the point is that it doesn't matter if she wasn't having, “enough sex,” with him- the answer wasn't for him to try and cheat on her. He is an adult who could VOCALIZE his desires without resorting to cheating on her.
