It's not a cultural thing to say someone's name correctly (or as best you can, like actually making a sincere effort)! It's just the absolute bare minimum in a respectful conversation with like…any person? If I literally just met someone and read their name off something incorrectly, I'd try and correct myself.

Thank you, I have been going to therapy for the last 10 years and is one of the only reasons I was strong enough to leave the previous relationship after so many years of time teetering on the fence.
I agree that I am not 100 percent ready for a long term relationship, but is it not fair to want even go on dates without feeling insecure about competition? I think the notion that I need to literally jail myself away because I didn't want to stay in my last relationship is too far for me.
