  1. I have never used dating apps but if I did I would probably also delete my account at that point because it would feel awkward to me to talk to other guys romantically if I like one

  2. You two should probably see a therapist together. Anybody who has lost a partner knows that you'll never really be “over it” but also it's healthy to move on as best you can.

You probably need a little help in moving forward, and your partner probably needs a little help in understanding what grief and loss really is, because most people don't really get it.

  3. SIL sounds like she’s gonna be the best support and the best Aunt. Sperm donor on the other hand…I have no words for that waste of space.

  4. i can assure you i'm not a slob with money and my housekeeping is top level.

we did talk about it and her only option is that i move in with her because she does not wants to find something new. in my eyes this is a recipe for disaster because its a super small apartment with only open space and everything in 1 room.

  5. The main question is – should I just accept that this is the part of his life I'll be excluded from?

    Yes

Do i have a reason to feel like a bad friend because of that

    No

  6. It does happen, it usually isn't a reflection of the friendship at all…in fact, it often speaks of how strong the friendship bond is. We end up focusing on the relationship more bc we trust the friendship will remain. It's ok to reach out to him and say “Hey, I don't want us to lose touch. Can we make a plan to see one another at least once a month?” You guys can take turns planning a night out. You probably both need it.

What happens in these cases is time passes and suddenly we feel bad, then awkward and we get to where you are. It rarely is done with intention of any kind.

  7. I'm also in Australia. Here, defacto couples get same rights as married (basically). All of my friends and fam bought houses with their partners BEFORE they got married. I don't know anyone who bought a house AFTER marriage. That's not the norm here.

  8. I don't think that's true. I do think it's true that our society has underrecognized mental health conditions for both men and women for years. I would also say that social pressure for men to “man up” and be emotionally “strong” (read: suppressed) means that many men do suffer from depression and loneliness in silence.

I think if you want to address this issue, consider bringing it up in a way that doesn't alienate half the population right away. You might get more traction that way.

  9. All right if I were you I would start by getting the parent gifts they sell these things everywhere I would I would recommend fuzzy socks a fuzzy hat perhaps her favorite movie or a new movie that you know that I’ve been waiting to see by it on my DVD for them and you know You know by like anything that is unique to them where you think that they might like it where they might use it and then also you know give your boyfriend a hug don’t let go until that person lets goes whether he wants a hug for five seconds or five minutes OK give him a hug that he controls the time on
