Its only going to get less and less frequent and it has more to do with being busy with personal life stuff. When we are kids and young, we have so much time and lack of responsibility to just hang with friends. But as you get older and have a job, a place of your own, a partner, maybe kids, and more friends; you just naturally have less time to spend with friends. Maintaining a friendship could just be a call or text once in a while. But it might no longer be something you keep doing every day or week. Just think of it as a wake up call that you have been getting too comfortable in your past that you might need to start working on having other things in life fill in your focus on your friend to yourself. Like new friendships, relationships, or maybe just an interest.

I do talk to him during a calm time, and this is when he apologizes and seems genuinely sorry. He will usually then stop denying that he was in a bad mood. We try to strategize on how to avoid this situation for the next time, but it keeps happening.
