I've caught her going through my phone multiple times over the years, she consistently checks my phone history (we're on the same plan) to see who I've been talking to. She's suspicious of any and all new people that enter my life, especially female coworkers and even female member of my family?? We tried couples therapy for over a year with no great success. Quite frankly, I feel like I'm constantly walking on eggshells around her, as the smallest thing will set her off. Everything, even the smallest movement of an object in our apartment is an apparent sign to her that I'm hiding something.

You are 26. Best to learn this lesson now so you are trying this nonsense in your 40s. The person you are with is exactly who they are. That is the person you choose love or leave. You can't make someone behave a certain way. You can't change a person.

First off I’m so sorry you went through it. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. I found out I was pregnant and then learned I miscarried in 24 hours… my body and mind hasn’t recovered and I feel foolish for still being so shaken up but it wont quit.
I do like it! I just don’t love it!
But the social expectation is to pretend it’s perfect and exactly what you dreamed of even if it’s not. And I’ve come to realize I resent the pressure to do that song and dance more than anything else.
I was in a terrible relationship and it felt like i constantly had to defend and justify it to family and friends, and it put me in a real ‘us vs the world’ headspace.
It wasn’t until my family gave up and I had no one else to defend him to but myself, and I realized that was bullshit, that I was able to end things.
